ingredients & Transparency
At FARSÁLI, we like our formulas like we like our relationships: safe, cruelty-free, and ethically sourced. We believe in transparency, no BS, and products that speak for themselves. Period.
We don't believe in hiding anything from our customers, except for maybe our secret recipe for making unicorns cry tears of joy!
Our goal is to create a world where self-care is synonymous with ethical responsibility. We don't just talk the talk, we walk the walk... in comfy slippers, of course.
why we don't use these:
We subscribe to the philosophy of 'less is more' when it comes to your skin - think of us as the skincare equivalent of a minimalist wardrobe. Our formulas comply with the EU's strict cosmetic standards, that restricts 1,300+ ingredients, meaning you can feel good about what you're putting on your skin (and what you're not).
We believe in honesty and transparency, and we trust that our customers can handle the truth: that most of those 1,300+ ingredients don't belong in our skincare products anyway. This is why we advise taking these claims with a grain of salt. It's all about the formulation and using what works for your skin!
VEGAN & HALAL
Our brand is built on a solid foundation of love, and we wouldn't hurt a fly! We're all about spreading good vibes and positive energy. We never test on animals and have a soft spot for our furry friends. Our formulations are vegan and HALAL, so you can feel good about what you're putting on your skin (and your conscience).
We like to play it both ways - we use both natural ingredients and those that have had a little chemistry fun. Natural ingredients come straight from the source, like a true nature's gift, while naturally derived ingredients have been given a little boost using chemistry. But hey, who doesn't love a good glow-up?
We know that sustainability is a moving target and a team effort. That's why we carefully choose our ingredients and how they are sourced to have a positive impact on our planet and all those who call it home. We may not be perfect, but we're always looking for ways to do better and be better.
Truth about CLEAN BEAUTY, Natural & Organic
Have you noticed that the word "clean" seems to be all the rage these days? Well, it's not just because people suddenly realized the value of showering. Our research shows that people are increasingly searching for "clean beauty" more than "natural skincare" and "organic skincare". Clean beauty began overtaking natural and organic in 2017, but it really started taking off in 2018. This also happens to be around the first time a big retailer introduced their CLEAN seal.
We're not sure why people are so obsessed with being squeaky clean, but we do know that the term "clean" isn't regulated, which means that brands can slap it on their products without necessarily being held accountable. It's important for us to be aware of these trends and to do our own research to make informed decisions about the products we use.
clean BEAUTY is an evolved version of natural.
Just like hairstyles and fashion trends, the beauty industry is always changing. That's why it's more crucial than ever for consumers to be ingredient-savvy and understand the science behind product formulations. After all, as the graph illustrates, consumer curiosity and education have the power to steer the market in exciting new directions!
Do We Use Only 100% Natural Ingredients?
We use both natural and naturally derived ingredients in our formulas. But what's the difference? Natural ingredients are those that exist in nature and undergo physical processes or fermentation without any chemical modification. On the other hand, naturally derived ingredients begin with a natural starting point that undergoes chemical modification. We use both natural and naturally derived ingredients in our formulas. It's like having a best friend who's a little bit wild, but always keeps things interesting!
You can't have your cake and eat it too, or your skincare for that matter. We're all for natural ingredients but formulas with water (cleansers, toners, serums, creams) can't be 100% natural. Water can be a breeding ground for mold and bacteria, so we use naturally derived preservatives to keep the nasties away and to maintain a reasonable shelf life.
Should We Avoid Chemicals?
Everything under the sun, including us fabulous humans, is composed of chemicals. Take H2O (water), for example, a chemical that's virtually impossible to escape. On the other hand, there's Arsenic, a natural chemical that we should definitely steer clear of. But don't let the fear of chemicals get the best of you! It's crucial to get to know them before you label them as a "Karen" that you want to avoid.
We do not have anything against anyone by the name of Karen. We were just trying to be quirky. Did it work?
Is a Higher % Active Ingredient Better?
You might think that more is always better, but when it comes to skincare formulas, that's not always the case. Even natural ingredients, in a high enough dose, can turn your skin from smooth and supple to angry and irritated. When a formula contains a blend of active ingredients, increasing the concentration of just one ingredient may actually limit its effectiveness or compatibility with the other ingredients in the formula.
We take great care in the formulation process to ensure that each ingredient is precisely balanced, and that the overall formula is optimized for maximum effectiveness. We believe that the key to a successful skincare product is not just in the percentage of an active ingredient, but in the skillful and thoughtful combination of ingredients.
At our brand, we don't believe in playing the percentage game when it comes to complex formulas with multiple active ingredients. Why, you ask? It's simple! We don't want to play into the marketing hype and have you chasing after high percentages. We believe in letting our products do the talking when it comes to effectiveness and user experience. We're not hiding anything, we just want to cut to the chase and give you formulas that truly kicks ass!
